About

I started PartialHysterectomy.net after supporting three women in my family through their own hysterectomies, from the first conversations about surgery to the long weeks of recovery. Along the way, we kept running into the same problem: information that was too vague, too technical, or simply wrong, at the very moment when clear answers mattered most.

This site is my attempt to fix that.

Who writes this site

Articles are published under the name “The PartialHysterectomy.net Editor.” I’m not a doctor or a nurse, and I don’t write under my real name, to protect the privacy of the women in my family and my own.

What I do is research. I read clinical guidelines, systematic reviews, published studies and explanations from specialists, then turn them into clear answers to the questions real patients ask before and after surgery.

How we create and update content

  • Real questions first. Topics come from the questions women actually ask in patient communities and from our own family’s experience.
  • Reliable sources. We prioritize guidance from professional organizations (such as ACOG and the NHS), systematic reviews and peer-reviewed research. Every article lists its sources at the end.
  • Credit where it’s due. When an article draws on a talk or video by a specialist, we name them and link to the original.
  • Honest dates. Each article shows when it was last updated. We are currently reviewing and updating older articles on the site.
  • Medical review. We are working to have our articles reviewed by a licensed health professional. Reviewed articles will show the reviewer’s name and credentials.

Real experiences

Some articles include first-hand experiences from women who have had a hysterectomy. These are shared anonymously and with their consent, and they are always clearly marked as personal experiences, not medical advice.

Advertising

This site shows ads to help cover its costs. Advertisers have no influence over what we write.
